Terms and conditions
The closing date for entries is 1 October 2012.
Entry is open to residents of South Africa between the ages of 16 and 30 years old only.
Employees and Public Representatives of the Democratic Alliance and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the competition.
An amount of up to R20 000 will be granted to each business idea deemed viable and innovative by our independent judging panel. This amount will not be paid across in cash but will be used to cover the costs related to the testing of the business model.
The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Democratic Alliance Youth reserves the right to amend the competition end date at any time.
Successful entrants will be notified by telephone. Unsuccessful entrants will not be contacted.
If and when necessary, the winner must make themselves available for photographs and other public relations related appearances with the Democratic Alliance Youth. All rights reserved.

I am a bit confused. Closing date – 1 October. What is the bussiness 5 minute session then for? Should you attend the meeting, give your speech verbally to be able to come in for a possibility to win the competition OR write it down? Do I understand it correctly?
The closing date is there to allow people to enter with written letters if you did not or were not able to attend the speech sessions? Correct??
Would like to also know whether you could attend without needing to give or comply to a speech yet? I have only read this now. So, I would love to attend for the sake of information and even ask all required info, before I go for it.
