During Child Protection week this week, DA Youth leadership across the country will be visiting a number of children’s places of safety to make donations and bring attention to the plight of South Africa’s children.
The government has failed to uphold the constitutional right to protection afforded to our most vulnerable citizens, with it being revealed yesterday by Child Welfare that the most unsafe place for children is in fact in their own homes.
The government pays lip service to children’s rights, yet the Family Advocate has approximately only 16 social workers for the entire country.
Youth leaders will be visiting the sites listed below in order to show the DA’s support for the rights of our children ahead of the launch of our comprehensive youth development policy in June, which presents the solutions to the youth crisis that the government is failing to implement.
As some locations are of a sensitive nature, media wishing to attend these visits are requested to please contact the relevant liaison for further details.
