The National Management Committee (NMC) of the Democratic Alliance (DA) Youth is today inviting SARS to conduct a full lifestyle audit on each of the five of us comprising the committee. My colleagues Mbali Ntuli, Hlanganani Gumbi, Reagen Allen, Aimee Franklin and myself will make all and any documentation requested by SARS freely available to them for this purpose.

Too many individuals today see politics as a career in which they can get rich quick. The DA Youth is of the firm conviction that SARS should come down harder on politicians who exploit their positions of influence to command huge salaries and kickbacks. Politicians should not be living lavish lifestyles while the majority of the people that they, as public representatives, are supposed to serve live in poverty.

The DA Youth urges all political leaders who share this conviction to come forward and join us in availing themselves for a full lifestyle audit. It is time to separate the true leaders from those who simply seek to exploit South Africans for their own material ends.
