Indeed power belongs to the people. You have the power to vote for the government you believe will deliver. If the government/ councilor you have voted for in the last election has not delivered, you have the power to vote them out. The power does not lie with politicians, but the power is with the people through a VOTE. People should not be scared of politicians, quite opposite, politicians should be scared of voters. We are not doing a favour when we deliver, that is what we are voted in to do.

In the same way that we choose not to travel in a particular taxi because the driver does not respect the passengers and is drunk, we should VOTE OUT councilors and parties that have failed to deliver to the people. We must tell the failing councilors on the 18th of May that we are tired of Clrs who enrich themselves at the expense of the Voters. Corrupt councilors and political parties should be rooted out of municipal councils through a VOTE on the 18th of May. We must tell them that we will not be governed by corrupt leaders.

I hear that certain politicians from a party I will not mention are preparing to go camp in the City of Cape Town in the lead up to the elections. This does not scare us, in fact it is a VOTE of confidence in us. It shows that we have been able to make the City of Cape Town a safe and welcoming city. The city that has DELIVERED to all the residents of Cape Town. They will feel safe there, what they will not do is to win the City of Cape Town.

Hi xitsonga hi ri Mintirho  ya vulavula.  Vaaki va City of Cape Town na ti masipala tin’wana la DA yi fumaka kona va hlambanya ku ri mintirho leyi DA yi nga yi endla ku sukela 2006. Vaaki va Afrika Dzonga hlawulani DA hi ti 18 ta May mi ta vona ku cinca laha mitshamaka kona.

Whilst others are camping in the DA run City of Cape Town, the DA Youth will be in every corner of the country canvassing young people to vote for the DA.

The DA Youth has stood firm on a wage subsidy for the millions of young unemployed South Africans. In the same way that we kept fighting for the subsidy, in the face of other parties and unions wanting to stop us, and shut down opportunity to young people, we will work as hard to ensure a DA Victory, because where the DA governs it delivers better services to all.

It is time for Concillors that deliver to the people. Cllrs who think about delivering services , and not about their stomachs. The DA has those councillors, and by voting for them, you are voting for a better life for yourself and your community.
